A great addition to this series in which we find Rob Miller caught up in a 12 year old cold case when a young woman is inadvertently charged with a robbery and so when her DNA flags up on the system with a link to the case, a can of worms is opened。Rob is not beyond bending the rules and finds that he has to more and more as the case stagnates once again。 The story is cleverly interwoven and as the reader, you become carried along with it - never sure who is telling the truth and who is lying! When a young girl is caught up in a robbery her DNA shows a link to a brutal cold case。 Inspector Rob Miller and his team are tasked with solving not only the old case but a new murder that also links to the past。 Brilliant plot that pulls you in from the beginning and is a real page turner。 Great characters and descriptive writing makes this a must read。 Recommend starting with the first book and enjoy the series。

Another fantastic addition to the series。 Excellent character development and mind-blowing twist。 I was completely hooked on to the story and could not put it down until the end。 The twist in the latter half of the story is shocking - the investigators start to see the mystery behind the ritualistic murders in a new light。 The Putney team has a new Superintendent now - things are not well in the station and Rob's career might be in danger。 The previous book ended with JO (Rob's girlfriend) disco Another fantastic addition to the series。 Excellent character development and mind-blowing twist。 I was completely hooked on to the story and could not put it down until the end。 The twist in the latter half of the story is shocking - the investigators start to see the mystery behind the ritualistic murders in a new light。 The Putney team has a new Superintendent now - things are not well in the station and Rob's career might be in danger。 The previous book ended with JO (Rob's girlfriend) discovering her pregnancy。 Rob and Jo decide to co-parent the child and I am eagerly waiting to see how the birth of their first child changes things on the work front。If you love gripping police procedurals, you might want to add The Box Hill Killer to your TBR。 Though each book in this series can be read as a standalone, I recommend you to start from book #1 if you are new to this series。 。。。more

I would like to thank Netgalley and Joffe Books for an advance copy of The Box Hill Killer, the fourth novel to feature DCI Rob Miller of the Putney Major Investigation Team。A chance arrest leads to a familial DNA link in an unsolved twelve year old serial murder case, where four men were killed and mutilated by the so called Pentagram Killer。 Rob re-opens the case but nothing is as it seems and politics make the job harder。I thoroughly enjoyed The Box Hill Killer, which is an engrossing read wi I would like to thank Netgalley and Joffe Books for an advance copy of The Box Hill Killer, the fourth novel to feature DCI Rob Miller of the Putney Major Investigation Team。A chance arrest leads to a familial DNA link in an unsolved twelve year old serial murder case, where four men were killed and mutilated by the so called Pentagram Killer。 Rob re-opens the case but nothing is as it seems and politics make the job harder。I thoroughly enjoyed The Box Hill Killer, which is an engrossing read with plenty of twists and turns。 It is told entirely from Rob’s point of view so the reader can get immersed in the story without distraction and investigate alongside him。 And there’s plenty to investigate without a shady politician throwing his weight around and hampering the investigation。 Cold cases are never easy with fading memories and a lack of physical clues, but, boy, can the team dig up circumstantial evidence and several juicy secrets。 It certainly holds the attention。If I have one criticism I think the novel is slightly long。 It does pack a punch with event after event, both reveals and developments, but it seems slow at times with the team flogging a dead theory and an over-emphasis on the office politics。 It may simply be my belief system but the outlandishness of the latter was impossible to take seriously。The Box Hill Killer is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending。 。。。more
